Akki Rotti

 

Ingredients Makes 6 Rottis
Rice flour   2 cup
Minced onion   ½ cup
Minced green chillies   1 tsp
Purie desiccated coconut   4 Tbsp
Salt   to taste
Water   as needed
Butter or oil   to cook the rottis.

 

 

Cooking Method

Combine all the ingredients from rice flour to salt.

Add enough water to make very soft dough. (like a thick paste)

Take a lump of dough, size of a small orange and place it on a sheet of plastic or a piece of banana leaf. Flatten it with moist hand, to a disc about 3 mm thick.

Carefully transfer the rotti on to your palm and invert on a hot tawa. Add about 2 tsp of butter/oil. When the under side is cooked, invert the rotti and cook the other side, adding more butter/oil. Use all the dough thus. Serve hot with chutney.
