Cabbage and Green Peas Poriyal

 

Ingredients   Serves (6 - 8)
Purie Desiccated
Coconut
  1 cup
Oil   2 Tbsp
Mustard   1 tsp
Red chilies   4-5, broken into pieces
Curry leaves   few
Onion   1 cup, chopped
Cabbage   500 gm, chopped
Green peas   1 cup, cooked
Salt to taste    

 

 

Cooking Method

Sprinkle ¼ cup of warm water on desiccated coconut, mix well and leave aside.

Heat the oil in a kadai. Season with mustard, chilies and curry leaves.

Add onion and fry till light brown.

Add cabbage, peas and salt. Mix well and keep covered on medium flame.

When the cabbage is cooked, open the lid and if there is any liquid, increase the flame to evaporate it. Stir in the coconut and remove from fire.

Serve with rice and rasam.
